Regular weight plates like tri-grip plates or similar aren’t built to resist the impacts of being dropped repetitively. Unfortunately, those plates have a solid iron body with a thin rubber coating to protect the weight and the ground. Therefore, those weight plates will crack or damage the floor after some time.
