Description Pair of Royal Worcester plates painted by William Hale. Item 2185.This pair of Royal Worcester plates were hand painted by William Hale (?-1930) and feature roses, rosebuds and foliage on a pale cream ground with green trim to the rim. Hale started at Royal Worcester in 1874 and became one of its principal artists. He was regarded as a very fine flower painter, who also painted fruit and birds. He could also turn his hand to detailed gilding and groundlaying. The diameter of the plates is 222 mm (8.75 inches) and both are in good condition with some faint traces of use. Both carry the date mark for 1914.
