Flight Barr and Barr richly decorated Imari plate

Description Flight Barr and Barr richly decorated Imari plate. Item 4048. This richly decorated plate by Flight Barr and Barr is decorated with a hand painted Imari pattern executed in underglaze blue and overglaze enamels, and completed with a large amount of gilding, particularly to the rim. It measures 261 mm (8.5 inches) in diameter and would have probably been part of a dessert service. The bad news is that there is a chip to the rim, but the good news is that chip is confined to the back of the plate and is not visibible from the front. The chip measures 10 mm (3/8ths of an inch) by 6 mm (1/4 of an inch). The rest of the plate is in very good condition. It would date from around 1815.
